Hmmm, rain on an island surrounded by the Atlantic and the North Sea, go figure. I figured that youse guys weren't comfortable unless you were surrounded by water (which might explain that fascination with a Florida holiday).

Spring is alive and well here in Florida! Temp hovers around 80, humidity is low... I love it! I, too, just bought a guitar... but mine was a $50 garage sale type purchase; a Carlo Robelli thin body acoustic electric. Great for playing outdoors, in the sunshine... ;D

I figured that youse guys weren't comfortable unless you were surrounded by water ...and don't forget the hops and barley... The Florida thing comes from the fact that all British children and OAPs are MASSIVE death metal fans. Stands to reason.

Yeah, but y'all (y'ouns) STILL drink it warm.
Soda as well.
Ahhhh, summer in Europe. The two things that haven't arrived there yet;
ice
and
window screens.
WHAT'S WRONG WITH YOU?

Well, I like to think of it this way...
If you go back far enough, the only amps you could get were valve amps. Simple times, good vibes. Nowadays you can also get solid state and digital attempts at the great original idea just with new technology, which is similar, but, well...
Likewise, the Fender and Rickenbacker of beers is the faithfull ol' warm beer. Nowadays you can make your beer cold, weak, and fizzy by new technology and suchlike, but whatever happened to that vintage 'feel'? All chilled and fizzed away.
The past... It's the new future! ;D

That must be the origin of the expression, "warm and fuzzy"...

ChrisK- Now that there's a western PA expression, I believe. And it's plural. is more Kentucky and "futha Sawth" from there, and is singular. The plural is "all y'all". Just straightening out some idioms here.

Very sweet, deep. I'm not a big fan of black, but on an LP with gold hardware it definitely "looks right" to me! Years of toting gear, no doubt. That LP is a chunk, but all the Gibby guys will tell you that's the price you pay for the tone!

Nope, it's a western Pa usage of an actual word as opposed to a misuse (think of the Pennsylvania Dutch - that really means the Pennsylvania Deutsch (German)).
"Youns" is the local spelling (hmm) of another German word by those that no longer remember where the word came from and/or how to spell it.
It's usage is as in "Gott mit uns" (God with us). It literally means "us" and is indeed inherently plural.
Now, the expression "all y'all" is "interesting" at best. After (y')all, y'all is a contraction for "you all" (which expands to "all you all").
It's straight from the Department of Redundancy Department. It's like saying "PIN number" (Personal Identification Number number).
Unless one is attempting to differentiate from the "just some of y'all" that one actually cares to address, or is engaged in an effort to enfranchise an entire group (an "all" (y'all)) of folks..........
Of course, the standard/equal level of illumination in western Pa also leads to the similar expression of "how're all youns doin'?.........." (How are all we doing?). ?How are youns all doing (we all)?.
There may be an opportunity here to introduce the term w'all (we all) which is a plural plural like you(p) all(p) (y'all) and would never be confused with the possible misinterpretation of y'all as you(s) all(p), unless one is actually addressing a singular group of more than one member as opposed to multiple groups of more than one member not yet consolidated into a singular group of more than one member or a multitude of groups of single members, or some combination betwixt.
And speaking of western Pa, where else does one hear the most abridged conversation;
"J'eat?"
"Nah, ju?"

More fun with dialects.....
"MR ducks . " "R not " "R2 , CM wangs ? " "Yeah , I c'm "MR ducks "
Or as my kids would say.....
"Dude " "Hey " "Sup ? " "Dooooode ! " "Late "

Yes, he is. A most thoroughgoing exposition of the vernacular 'round these parts. And he didn't even get to "we 'uns" and "they 'uns" Me, I'm originally a Yooper, so that's a whole nother kettle of fish dere, eh?

Yeppers!
Da Stillers.
Speaking of kids (well, past tense, mine are 25 and 28), I'm still trying to determine if "sick" is good or bad (or both).
So newey, do you know what Stan Hewet really means? (I do.)

"Stone Quarry". And it's spelled "Hywet" although pronounced as "Hewet'.
Which strikes me as being another redundancy- what else would you quarry?
So we're like NASA around here- we have multiple independent redundencies. ;D ;D ;D
