Our guitars get dirty. Our guitars get smudged with fingerprints, sweat etc...Its a given right?...You always hurt the one you love! Did you ever notice that between the pups there is always that slight dusting of...dare I say!...DEAD SKIN!! I mean, that must be what it is, right? I use a pick most of the time, but I do fingerpick and use my fingernails alot too. I guess this just goes to show how much we are eroding our fingers down. I suppose in a few years itll look like I have the palms of a regular sized man, but the fingers of a 5 year old! Its tough to be a guitar player!

..... Did you ever notice that between the pups there is always that slight dusting of...dare I say!...DEAD SKIN!! I mean, that must be what it is, right?..... You are probably correct, but I'm not convinced that it's just that. I mean, yeah- your fingers are there and everything, which no doubt contributes to it, but did you ever look at your TV screen after no cleaning it for a while? I bet it could also be that the pickups, being magnetic, just attract dust and crud like the electrons and crustaceans in an old fashioned (CRT) TV tube do. Anyway, that's the theory I'm sellin' - are you buyin'? Dan

Then there's also the stuff that was on your fingers.... Beer, tobacco, jam sandwitch, whatever.

My observation was/is...that it seems to be concentrated underneath the strings and in between the pups. *Yuck*

I'm not claiming what type of junk it is, but under the strings is where your hand doesn't ever reach to brush off the crud. I'm willing to bet it's more than just dust, though...
yes, but (to quote) the cookies are delicious!
