Hi all, new guy here... After spending the last half hour searching, I decided to ask the pros. Anyone have a schematic to wire a mini switch into a strat wiring scheme that will let me go straight to the bridge pickup regardless of where the 5 way switch is at? I have a mini switch wired (dpdt) into the circuit that allows me to bypass the volume and tone (all pickups). But that wasn't quite what I was after. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

Welcome! What you're requesting will be pretty easy. I'd be willing to bet (but not much... ) there's already one of these on the Schematics board. I'd like to have a little more info before I make a specific recomendations. Is this a standard strat wiring with 3 pups and v-t-t? How'd you manage to bypass both tones with only 2 poles? Do you want the new lead switch to bypass the knobs as well?

Aha!, the Lead/Follow Switch Ploy.
By floating the ground connections to the pots?
Have one pole switch (SPDT) the output jack hot from the standard Strat wiring scheme to just the bridge pickup hot, and have the other pole (SPDT) switch the bridge pickup hot from the standard Strat wiring scheme to just the output jack hot.
In other words, the switch connects the bridge pickup hot to its normal place, and the output jack hot to its normal place
OR
both to each other (a jumper on the DPDT switch).
Bridge hot pole Lead side. See below Pole common. Bridge hot Follow side. To the 5-way lever switch
Output jack hot pole Lead side. See above Pole common. Output jack hot pole Follow side. To the volume pot

Thanks for the replies guys Ashcatlt, yes it is a standard strat wiring scheme, with the exception of combining the neck/middle pickup on one tone pot (250K), and the bridge (humbucker) having it's own tone pot (500K) along with orange drops on both tone pots (.50 and .22) The bypass dpdt switch is wired like this, www.1728.com/guitar4.htmWorks well, but I play on the neck pickup quite often, but would like to be able to just flip a toggle to go straight to the bridge, without the tone and volume pots in the circuit. Chris, I'm not quite understanding the wiring you suggested, I'll draw it out, and then take a stab at it. Thanks again guys. I'll do a little searching in the Schematics section

ChrisKI think you have described something like this? So pacermutt, I hope I saved you from making a drawing?

Yep. You wouldn't find this in the schematic section. If it was, I'd have just linked to it. I'm a big fan of the abstract model. Once you "build" it and then "see" it, you "know" it. This beats just plumbing......
