Does having a 7 string such as the Ibanez give the player the option of standard and drop D tuning at the same time? Or should I say drop B? Thanks

Well, a seven string guitar is the same as a regular guitar, except that it has, well, 7 strings. Point: you can tune however you want to. "Drop D" tuning is typically D-A-D-G-B-E, so you could tune a seven string to that, plus whatever you want the low sting to be (maybe A?).
You can't really have both drop D and standard tunings at the same time, even with a 7 string guitar. the closest you could come would be to tune it D-E-A-D-G-B-E and use either the low D or E strings as you wanted, but that might prove to be a bit unwieldy.
