Can anyone point me to a resource that has schematics of valve preamps?
What I'm looking for is a simple two channel thing that I could build and run through the power stage of my solid state amp in order to get some more "natural" sounds. I play mainly classic rock, so Ed King to Angus in terms of tones required.
Cheers,
Simes

Simes: You might take a look at PAIA Electronics' TubeHeadA kit has the advantage that the supplier can buy components in bulk. Whether you could source all the needed bits for less yourself is, I think, an open question. PAIA's website has a schematic for their single channel model, the "Stack-in-a-Box", but none for the two-channel TubeHead. I have never purchased anything from these folks so I can't vouch for them, but they've been around for years so they must be doing something right. The link above is to the International version which ships w/o a 110V power supply so you're on your own as far as supplying the requisite juice.
