Don't look now, but we've got a new God in the forums. Congratulations, newey - that's the fastest rise to the heavens I've seen in GN2 yet (and I think you've earned a +1 for all of your efforts in just 9 short months). DD

Yes, congratulations fella! I remember you joining, and then running neck and neck, post-wise, for a bit. You've left me standing though! The main thing is that you've been a really good contributor, and the title doesn't just equate to the amount of posts- they've been geuinely helpful and friendly, and a credit to the forum. Good work. *shakes hand*

Thanks guys! I believe the polite word is "loquacious" . . . I have learned quite a bit from everyone here, and while I'll never have the electronics cred of some of our members, I hope I can at least be of help to others in some way.

Congrats to the new God from the Akronites.
(I had to say it, it's just so Flash Gordon.)
Watch out for the bad guys with the glowing ores of Cantonite.

Hey, now ... I wasn't suggesting that newey should be fast-tracked to the Olympics in China.

Nah, it's the other Canton (Ohio), you know, the one with the NFL Football hall of fame.
Akron is the town that headquartered Goodyear and Rubbermaid, and has a stadium called the "Rubber Bowl" (c'mon, NO ONE could make this up). It also has a bridge across interstate 76 with the word "Akron" on it 10 times (per side).
Well, now the secret's let out; the (relatively) local airport has the FAA designation of CAK for Canton/Akron.
Folks hate being referred to as being from CAKron.
My brother told me this tale.
It may or may not be actually true, but he gets great joy out of telling folk from the greater CAKron area that they're CAKronites (especially our cousin who is from the area, and has become somewhat sensitive over the years).
It is possible that he's managed to single-handedly piss off an entire geographical area.

Yes indeed. The "CAK" airport designation has always sounded like Bill The Cat hockin' up a hairball. On a more serious note, some of you may have seen that Sumgai has, so to say, passed the torch to me as administrator hereabouts. There will no doubt be a period of time for me to get up to speed on this, so please bear with me during this transition. You can PM me with any issues/concerns that arise. I hope to keep the board here as helpful and fun as it has been. Until some issues are worked out with Proboards, I will be posting as Sumgai regarding any administrative issues. I will continue to be Newey on all other postings.

Hey Newey, Well done for taking up the reigns of the forum. I've no idea what goes into running one of these things, but I get the feeling you're going to do a good job, and carry on the good vibe of the place so far. Long Live The New King!
