I don't (yet) have an iphone, so I can't try out any of these, but there are some very cool guitar-related apps one can download: Guitar toolkit This sports a tuner, chord finder, and metronome, all on your phone. MooCowMusic's Band gives you a series of virtual instruments that can be mixed, recorded, etc right on your iphone. They also have this guitar simulator. As other companies roll out their 3G technology, I suspect versions of these apps for other platforms will become available.

to be honest, iphone is nothing special. i have used pda phones since 2003 (and they weren't as castrated as the iphone) and 3g pda phones since 2005.
there are lots of guitar related apps for windows mobile like phontuner, k-metronome, fretboard addict, pocket stompbox, chrodguru, pocket guitarref and so on and so on
