al, It's nice to know that some people care and are concerned, and this is the correct forum for showing such, but...... 1) This is old news, very old - both the initial story and the petition..... 2), Yahoo can't do anything about it, they neither control the Chinese government, nor can they somehow go back in time and take back their actions that did the damage..... 3) The Yahoo big kahuna's have recently taken their drubbing from Congress, no less, and they did about as much as could be expected of them, they aplogized to the family of the victim..... 4) History shows that so far, no on-line petition (or any other sort of gathering or 'show of support') has had any effect on current events, either locally or globally. I expect that this will change in the future, perhaps sooner than I personally imagine, but I'm not holding my breath waiting for the paradigm shift to happen..... 5) Form letters are carefully tabulated as such, and gleefully ignored, just before getting routed over to the Circular File. If you're truly going to express your mind, you absolutely must do so in your own words, without any 'guidance' from someone else who's masterminding a plan that furthers his own agenda. The fact that your personal agenda happens to agree with his is of no consequence - you must use your own words in order to not only be heard by the powers-that-be, but to be listened to and respected as a thinking (and voting) citizen..... 6) Persuant to 5), what do you think the chances are that there is a filter installed on all the mailboxes in that domain, and when said filter "sees" this form letter coming, it gets routed to the big bit bucket in the sky? Sorta makes a mockery of the original intent, to my way of thinking. That's why I advocate unique communications, and not just following the herd with a 'me-too' form letter. OK, enough of that, let's see who else has something to say about this....... sumgai
