Silvertones, have the stacked 1 meg/100k pots. 1 Meg at volume would pass a lot of high freq, 100K at tone would be more towards the bass range. I would love to get a more precise overview of why they chose this combination of pots as they are so far apart in value. BTW, and I have touched on this before, my 1457 ( circa 1960?? ) Silvertone, is an amazingly quiet guitar, at all positions including series of the two lipstick pickups. It is in a rudimentary faraday box, although its very crude, wrapped cardboard and copper foil.
Best Ange

Don't even think that, Ange! I wished you a happy birthday and everything As to why they're using those particular values for the pots, I have no idea- unless, like so many things vintage, it was just what they had for cheap in the '50's. It does seem a bit anomalous.

Ange, Newey may not be p d off at you, but I sure as hell am! TOTALLY KIDDING! Newey may not know about those stacked pots, but I sure as hell do! TOTALLY KIDDING again, unfortunately ... ... but I did find some info on Danos at thegearpage as well as a kind offer of schematics to anyone who needed them if they simply emailed a true gentleman going by the tag "angelodp" ... whoever that is.To add confusion, I think the wiring of those Danos was in series - where most everyone else was wiring in parallel. Is that right? Danos is a 5 letter word, so is weird. So is great. By the way, I also wished you Happy Birthday, but I recognize that you are so focused on wiring that you probably don't even know about the coffee shop. ;D No kidding, how did ya know Newey wished you Happy Birthday because he maintains a database with age, gender, blood type, dental records, hair color, height, weight, nationality, racial origin, high school transcripts, church attendance ... all that sort of basic stuff. Either that or he just looked at the bottom of the page where it displays today's birthdays ... probably the big brother incredibly intrusive racial profiling database thing, though. I just seconded his best wishes. D2o

Yes, I keep close track of whether one attends the Church of Fender or the Church of Gibson. We also have a few members such as Angelo who are belong to fringe groups like the Cult of Dano. ;D ;D

I throw change at the Boss followers whenever I see them at the airport.
I hope MXR doesn't blacklist me.
