... wife is starting to hate it even more. I've been all over the internet looking to build a new guitar since joining this site!! Heck, I had a dream about a guitar last night, I thought I got over this disease about 15 years ago... What am I going to do, the sickness is back... I've bookmarked about 20 guitar websites in the last two days... I need HELP! ;D IS THERE A GUITAR ANONYMOUS SITE? ;D BTW..... HAPPY NEW YEAR!

It only gets worse! About a year and a half ago, I stumbled upon projectguitar.com and picked up Melvyn Hiscock's book "Make Your Own Electric Guitar". I now have a couple hundred guitar building related bookmarks, frequent 3 or 4 guitar building related forums, and spend a good portion of my day reading guitar building related websites and books....ahem....and I have one project in the works. Just give in! There's no use resisting... CMA

You're only in trouble when the projects outnumber the playable ones

eh, my projects do out number the playable ones
in fact, projects that other people want me to do, out number my playable ones....
i think i only have 3 playable guitars, and two playable basses.
my girlfriend has come to hate nearly all of my guitars, along with her brothers guitars because they have taken my time with her away.
give in, its fun and it makes you feel good when you finish a project.

...cuz' they're responsive to you, generally never give you any lip, are relative low maintenance, are constant in behavior, and are there for you when you want/need them?
Be careful out there......

Well, in this day and age, you don't have to pay a lot to get a good guitar. If you feel you must build one, rather than build it from scratch or from parts, I think a guitar kit is just the thing. A few years ago, I built the Saga ST-10 Guitar Kit. Here it is on e-bay but you can easily find it elsewhere: Saga Guitar KitWe've had a great many threads about inexpensive guitars but if you don't feel like searching too much, some great guitars that will set you back very little are the OLP MM1 and the Dean Vendetta XM. And if you are looking to bookmark guitar websites, have you gone to mine? www.1728.com/guitar.htmSix pages of guitar rewiring and always adding more.

Only one? Yes, unfortunately, my budget isn't able to keep up with the speed at which I come up with new ideas. CMA

i am familiar with that quote. she is fully aware that i care more about my zep bass and my iPod more than i ever can or will care about her. music has been around a lot longer than her, and always will be. ;D
