Sorry to be the bearer of bad news, but Lester Polsfuss has left the building. Hit up your favorite news source, or just do the google thing...... sumgai

I hadn't heard the news. My day just got a bit darker.
Requiescat in pace.

It only took a COUPLE of seconds for that to register. I'd forgotten that part of the story. RIP LP, and how's that new right elbow?

RIP, Mr. Paul Ash, I am not going to equate your idea of including a time marker in your YouTube post to Les Paul's idea of the solid body electric guitar, but that was a pretty cool trick, dude! Thanks, D2o

I heard this on the news heading out the door this morning. As newey said, it set a somber tone for the rest of the day.
I think what I found sadder was that no one I mentioned Les Paul to knew who he was...but I don't think he'd have cared much.
This is one of my favorite Les Paul moments...suffer through the Billy Squire intro...it's a great memory.
So long, Les.
Not the happiest of trails today,

Nice video find, Cyn!
I didn't see a date on the clip, but it must be from the mid '80s, based on how old Beck looks to be, and on the fact that Billy Squire is in it.
But what the heck is that guitar Les is playing? It looks to be one of those LP recording models from that era, with the low impedance pickups. But it seems to have several extra knobs on it. And what's the clunky-looking box he's got mounted by the bridge? Some sort of stompbox? At first I thought it was just a wireless transmitter, but it seems to be too big for that, even from that era. And it's got at least a couple of controls on it, seemingly.
Looks like a good time those boys were having, though. Playing and goofin' on each other!

I'm sure moments of silence were had before gigs around the world.
94 years of being Les Paul is a damn good run.

late reply...uber-busy.
The Mrs' texted me on this one while I was sleeping last Thursday. Kind of dissapointed on the lack of Media coverage here in "The City" and especially of his home state just to the north. Thinking back, it's about the same coverage they gave Leo.
On our east coast vacation this July we were going to stop in NYC to see ground zero, the Statue of Liberty and try and catch a Monday night Les gig, when we found he had stopped in June, we scrapped the NYC jaunt.
By comparison to most, Les had Three lifetimes of activity packed into one. Now he can finally rest.
Thanks Les!
