fellow guitar nuts! My daughter received a Playstation 3 for Christmas. It came with guitar hero 3....Has anyone tried it out yet?
I gave it go....its nothing like playing the real thing, but its kind of fun!.....I tend to get ill if I play video games for a long period of time though.

My son got it for Christmas. Very addictive even to watch. I see some elements as being similar to the other very addicting video game Tetris. I tried it, but I found the response lag from the wireless controller to be too annoying. Great tool for practicing rhythm and timing, as well as if you fub a note just keep going.
I can't convince him to actually pickup a guitar though.

Daughter #2 had a stand alone game that was kind of the same thing two years ago, I figured that the Sony or Xbox version would be more realistic, I was disappointed to find that it was almost identical (just had a better song selection). Now the drums on Rockband, that's a whole other thing entirely ;D .

Or you could simply drop that greasy kid stuff, and start working out with the real thing: Guitar Wizard (promo page)Here's a short clip of the thing in action: Hot topic, over on Yahoo's MIDI guitar forums. sumgai
