Not really.
But Ijustwannastrat does turn 18 today. Happy Birthday!
He can vote now. Presumably, he'll be voting the "Strat ticket" . . . ;D ;D(groan) ;D
Turn the amp to 11 and blast out! (I'd say "to Highway Star", but since that one dates back to the time of dial telephones, I doubt he knows it! Maybe I should update my usual birthday greeting and suggest "Master of Puppets" or some such . . .)

Whoa...18...I have bald spots older then that...and at 18 Highway Star is a bit antiquated...but shake some plaster out of the wall regardless.
Happy Birthday!

Master of Puppets pre-dates him as well, actually. I stopped listening to most new music around the time he was born, so I got nothin'.
The point is, rock something!
Welcome to the other side of the pointless and arbitrary "line". You are now in that limbo where you're too young to drink, but plenty old enough to go out and get killed attempting to advance the polical/economic goals of some people you'll probably never meet.
Happy smurfday!

Well, I normally don't listen to music my age either. Highway star is a great song, along with master of puppets. I look at myself as more of a bluesy/rock/psychedelic fan. But i love most of the entire rock genre. Peter Green's Fleetwood Mac is my favorite as of late. As far as contemporary music, I stop around Alice in Chains, with Tool being a rare exception (around the same time)
Also, thank you very much. I am currently rewiring the pickguard for my strat that comes from UPS tomorrow.

...Peter Green's Fleetwood Mac is my favorite as of late... Then you really need to check out Rory Gallagher... Granted, you were only 4 years old when he passed away, but I think you'll like him. Happy Trails Cynical One

WannaStrat-
Rock legend has it that, in the '60's when Clapton was the lead for John Mayall's Bluesbreakers, London bus stop graffiti began appearing reading "Clapton is God". After Peter Green replaced Clapton, the graffiti began reading "Peter Green is better than God" . . .
And, if you're a fan of blues-rock, Rory Gallagher is required listening, as Cyn points out.

In my book, if you can correctly spell music three times out of four without looking it up in the dictionary, then you are automatically a Rory Gallagher fan, although may not yet know it! ;D
Edged In Blue is how a guitar should sound, and how a tune should be able to pull your emotions right over the cliff. (Sorry, had to avoid the obvious redundancy.) I have to admit though that my all-time favorite is the tune "What's Goin' On?" from the album "On The Boards" (with his first group, Taste).
Oh, and lest I look like I'm forgettin' sumpin'........... Happy Birthday to you, Strat-wanter!

Happy Birthday to you, Strat-wanter! Actually, my everybody has been correctly typo-ing my name. I did the first typo, and the "t" in want should have been an "n". Some friends and I use "strat" as a verb, for playing country, classic rock, or blues. It's something stupid that we do, but oh well.
