I don't have to "feel" old, I AM old! Though I have to admit, lately we've gotten some new members that have almost as much "time in grade" as I do. There's probably a dozen of us here that wanna take a towel to the back of your ears! ;D In fact, even though I have to double my dosage of Ginko Biloba in order to do so, I can remember as far back as when I was 53. Yeah, the number you hit just yesterday. And that CRS you keep complaining about? I'm the one that invented the term! Top that, whippersnapper! sumcurmudgeon

Hands down in one year, 1980 hurt music more than any full ten years.
I happen to be a huge lennon fan, so was born after all this, so I never had to experience it.

I'm with SG Why do they have to add it up for us...........some kind of Geritol conspiracy I spent a lot of time in NYC during the 70s and 80s and it was a shock to think that could happen in a part of the city that always felt safe to me. My brother in law's twin lived in the Dakota at the time.....it was such a familiar place it was just hard to believe. And you hear his voice wherever you go. which makes it all the more surreal. Instant Karma is playing on the radio as i write this. Shine on, on and on IRW

Hey, it was not my intention to wake the sleeping dragon... It just dawned on me this morning on my way off to work. And my memory of the event was not quite so poignant...we were out drinking all night and I just happened to come home and pop on the TV. It struck me at the time that things had shifted slightly in the world. I was never a big Lennon fan, but he didn't deserve that. There's probably a dozen of us here that wanna take a towel to the back of your ears! ;D And be careful with the wet towel. You take both hands off that walker and it could be bad... ;D Happy Trails Cynical One

I was 8 when the Beatles played on Ed Sullivan. Like millions of all American boys in those days- they're why I started playing guitar & sort of defined the rest of my life. Sort of. I heard about his death from Howard Cosell & it seemed like such a small ending to such a huge life. Like him or hate him- he touched us all........ -lpf3

Mr Mojo Risin' would have been 67 yesterday. He's been dead almost 40 years and has finally (today) been pardonned for that thing in Florida which never happened.
I almost wish I had a couple tabs with which to celebrate. Aw well, maybe whisky will do?

OK, now I feel old. No doubt, he's spinning beneath the Cimetière du Père-Lachaise at that news . . . Or at least a decent flashback . . . ;D ;D

You take both hands off that walker and it could be bad... ;D Don't worry, when you get to our age, we'll induct you into our secret club, where we get such goodies as self-powered walkers and the like. They're even working on a bionic hand right now, so I can actually play the bleepin' guitar instead of just talking about it!! Just wait your turn, grasshopper, and all will be revealed. ;D sumgai

Even though we just got 8" (20cm) of snow last night and it's 18oF (-8oC) with a 30 mph (48kpm) wind out of the North...and by tomorrow morning the wind chill should be around -30oF (-35oC)...I still found this funny...
+1 for the laugh this morning...I needed it...

Doors tabs are easy-to-find with a quick google. Ho ho ho. Happiness is a warm pun.
This entire thread makes me feel like a too-young jumped-up upstart. So I can empathize with dead rockers after all.
