(Moved to Wiring by sumgai, 7/14/11)
I had a fender stratocaster but when i but in the middle pickup the tone 1 works like a gain and tone 2 like a real tone. is this correct? or is just a bad wiring?
thanks

x, Sorry, your question pertains directly to pickup wiring, so I moved your post over here. Just so everyone can find things more-or-less where one might expect to find 'em. What you describe is definitely not normal Strat behavior. If the 1st Tone control acts as a Volume pot when the Middle pup is selected, then there is a wiring issue of major proportions. In order to help you fix this, we need to ask a question or two (or more!): a) Did you buy the guitar this way, or is this a mod you did, but it came out all wrong? b) Have you got a diagram of what's going on in there? (If you bought it that way, I don't expect you would, but it never hurts to ask.) c) Can you take a sharp, clearly focused picture, and post it here in this thread? Often times that helps us out a great deal. d) Did you just want to return the guitar to "stock" wiring, or did you have one (or more!) mods in mind? and finally: e) Do you have a meter of some sort, usually called a DMM? But for our needs, just about anything will do the job. sumgai
