Here it is the shortest day of the year, and it most certainly augers Long-johns for our near-future wardrobe needs - even the Mayans knew that on this day it freezes like there's no tomorrow.... hence the predicted End Of The World. But just for you Aussies and NZ'landers, Happy Longest Day of the Year, or what's left of it. sumgai

December 22nd, from your correspondent in Time Zone 1.
Good News!
I can confirm that we are still here. The world may carry on.
.......hang on....spoke too soon!
There's a weird orange fire ball on the horizon and a big chasm opening up in the ground. I'm grabbing my Strat and Les Paul and heading for the bunker.......

I guess this just confirms my original suspicions...if the Mayan's truly were clairvoyant how is it that they never saw the Spanish coming...

But oh well, people will be people. Did anything remember the other two times the apocalypse was supposed to rain down last year? no? Exactly.

Because nobody expects the Spanish Inquisition? I don't know who does Mini's advertisements, but this full-page ad in the NY Times today I thought was brilliant. They latch onto the Mayan Calendar hysteria for free to sell their cars! Since the world is ending, there's no need to make any of the payments:

LOL...we do have a pretty pathetic opposition, makes even the government look good...who'd ahve thunk. Apparently they are proposing watering down our gun laws for our queensland cousins...and promised to abolish the hate speak laws as they would like to be able to spew more hate apparently...doh!
