Too sad, he and the Troggs were always one of my favorites. The Troggs were vastly underrated; everyone remembers "Wild Thing" which was a bit of an anomaly for them.

...The Troggs were vastly underrated; everyone remembers "Wild Thing" which was a bit of an anomaly for them. That's because it wasn't their song. It was written by Chip Taylor. (Who in real life is James Wesley Voight, brother of Jon Voight) Still, who's going to cry out for research into extraterrestrials and alchemy now... HTC1

I remember "Love Is All Around" as one of the go-to ballads when you had a girl you wanted to impress (and undress!). It's butt-simple, just 4 chords and it's easy to sound like a soulful, sensitive type when singing it.
One of those songs for when she says, "Oh, so you play guitar?"

An icon band, cult kind of thing. Only "insiders" used to listen to them. Love is all around is definitely a great song, and of course "wild thing" was the joy of the new rock cover band.

One of those songs for when she says, "Oh, so you play guitar?" So that's what I've been doing wrong!I don't have much experience with the Troggs, but I've always really enjoyed this cover of theirs:
