Hi everyone, I found this forum about guitar wiring and I think it's the best place to answer a little question: wich is the best way to wire a single coil using only tone pot? I've prepared a small template that can be used to "connect" wire and lugs in the appropriate way. I know I'll need a Cap ;-)

oetzi1977- Hello and Welcome to G-Nutz2!My temptation here, in the spirit of teching one to do for themselves, is to refer you to any single pickup, single V + T diagram, and invite you to simply "strip out" the volume control. But your request is easy enough, so here's a diagram: A couple of notes about this. First, this assumes you are a righty. Second, I assumed that this is all the wiring to be put into the guitar, and that it is not part of a larger scheme with multiple pickups, switches, etc. Finally, I assumed that the guitar would have a bridge/string ground (most do), and I added that. I have also shown the back of the pot used as a grounding point, as is commonly done. It is not, strictly speaking, necessary to ground the back of the pot; you could just wire the cap directly to the sleeve of the jack (and run the bridge ground there as well). But grounding the pot shell may help reduce noise a bit in some circumstances. But be careful not to apply too much heat to the pot shell as it is fairly easy to fry the innards on some pots. You should also scuff up the back of the pot shell with a bit of sandpaper to ensure good adhesion of the solder.

Thank you so much! Yes, this is all the wiring to put into the guitar 'cos it's a basic self-built lap steel.
