Came across a few clips of this luthier's reworing of old skateboards into guitars ~
The surprising thing is not only how great they sound, but how great the demo guitar player is ~
Another interesting design is this 'Leaf Guitar' minimalistic piezo/mag design ~

At first I thought that disc on the leaf guitar was a resonator pickup, but then I looked up pics of it and realized it's just a wooden disc. I wonder how much neck dive those skate models have?

Well, the leaf is a neck-through body with ornate "wings" added. But I'm wondering about the neck stability on those skateboard ones. The bodies look too thin to accept a bolt-on type neck. I'd like to see a shot from the back to see if there's any strengthening going on.

On the other hand, I don't see any signs (in the last decade or two) of kids weighing 100 to 160 pounds going off and breaking the skateboard the first time they try a jump.... those things are Tough!
