Just back from a week in Ft. Myers, FL- my wife and I usually take an annual "spring break" form the winter weather. While I was down in Ft. Myers, I caught Mike Imbusciani and his band, playing a set at Bert's, a waterfront shrimp-and-clam joint on Big Pine Island. Long-timers may recall that I posted about Mike back in 2011, when he was 14 years old. He's now 17, and still going strong, better than ever in fact: The previous thread sort of devolved into people posting ever-younger musicians on video, until the question of in vitro prodigies was broached. Then Mike joined, posting as "jilaw50", and promoting his material and discussing his equipment. guitarnuts2.proboards.com/thread/5830/kid-future?page=2During a set break, Mike and I had a discussion about his stage rig, which is pretty straightforward. He has 3 guitars onstage: a Schecter Hellfire with 3 mini-HBs which is unplugged as a spare. Plugged in, through an A-B switch, are a Gretsch Brian Setzer Sig model, and his main axe, a highly-modified Squier Strat HSS with Duncan pickups, locking tuners and a modded trem. He plays through a blonde Twin Reverb RI. His board consists of the A-B switch, a volume pedal, a Morley wah, a couple of distortions, plus a separate vocal processor. In that thread, I told Mike I would have to come and see him the next time I was in SW Florida, so I fulfilled that, although several years intervened. The show was great, the band was tight and in fine form.

Looks to me more like Mike was letting you sit in with him... nice job. Good tune, too. More to the point, it's always nice to see the one of the pros "sit in" with us Nutz. Thanks, jilaw50.

Hey, that drummer looks like Charlie Watts' younger brother (plays like him too).
