I Googled all over GN but didn't see anything on this. I'm back to the carbon film, metal film, poly-this, poly-that jungle. It's nice to have choices, but . . . Now that UnklMickey and PollysHero gave a good pointer to help sort out the Wonderful World of 0.33µF 400V Capacitors, how about something similar for fixed resistors? I know ¼- or ½-watt will probably be just fine for guitar use. I'm not a "brand snob" (well, not all the time), but would probably want a 5% if I could get my mitts on one of the right value. So, carbon film, axial leads, basic Rad Shack stuff? Thanks. -- Doug C.

carbon composite: supposedly the great tone mojo - responsible for random noise in tube amps. I'm assuming that means when used in the circuits of a tube amp, not when used in a guitar plugged into a tube amp. (Yeah, I know, it's kind of a "Well, DUH" question, but I had to ask. ) Sounds good. (Pardon the pun.) I'll peruse my Allied and Mouser catalogs for those. Great. I appreciate the guidance. (And I managed to learn something new today.)
