All by itself, without any help from anyone, Australia slips into the Guinness Book of Records with 43 Prime Ministers in three-or-four years.. ...at least we can check on who's doing it on any particular day while visiting the Weather Forecast site..that keeps the communication costs down ...sigh

When I grow up I want to be an ex-Prime Minister.
A dazzling career lasting about a year and a bit is crowned by a nice $300k pension and the right to sport the smug benevolent smile of the Elder Statesman. And there'll plenty of free time for cricket and bicycles. Add guitar noodling to that list.

what??? You guys can give us some lectures. I was under the impression that we the greeks were the kings of political volatility. But I am puzzled, I thought Australia was as stable as USA/UK.

what??? You guys can give us some lectures. I was under the impression that we the greeks were the kings of political volatility. But I am puzzled, I thought Australia was as stable as USA/UK. Actually, Australia really IS quite stable...it doesn't matter which party is in power, or who their leader is, we still all sit happily sipping our beer at the barbecue on the beach...watching the sun go down on our currency, employment opportunities, public transport systems and efforts to actually MANUFACTURE something of value in this country. That's why noodling on a guitar is better than eating one's heart out about how we are screwing the environment... ...if only our politicians were bio-degradable .. BTW, for anyone who's interested, I heard last night on one TV account of the then-happening bun fight that Tony Abbott missed out on his excessive (extra) pension as a past Prime Minister because he wasn't in office for a full two years ....missed by four days apparently. There really IS a Sugarplum Fairy after all... ...could be worse I suppose, Tony could have had a brother as an aspiring politician-in-waiting.

Got it Gumbo, but every time I feel like complaining about similar things, I consider the state of the Syrian refugees and go back directly back to my hole in full relief, where the worse thing in my life is this damn piece of wood chipped out my Ibanez's neck.

A truism in this country goes something like this..."Diapers and politicians should both be changed frequently...and for the same reason". Two other truisms come to mind as well: HTC1
