Hey all;
Im new here, and i have a problem with my strat. Something is wrong with my bridge pickup. I can hear only a very faint sound out of my amp when it is selected, and all the other combinations work, including position two on the selector switch. I use texas special pups if that helps. If you could give me some advice i would really appreciate it.

If that pup works in other positions, I'd suspect something at the switch. Maybe something's messed up at the neck-only position. Try it in whatever position combines it with another pup, and maybe tap on it to make sure they're both sending signal.

Yes - a light tap with the tip of a screwdriver on a pole piece should give a strong and equal thump from each connected pup.
Also, do you have a multimeter? If not - they are very cheap and really useful for any kind of electrical mods. Measure resistance across the output jack, with volume on full, in each pup combination. When you select combos 1, 3 and 5, you are basically measuring the continuity of the pup and all its switching. These should read something in the region of 5k to 9k depending on your pups. Combos 2 and 4, should read about half that.
Whatever readings you get will give a clue - very low readings indicate a short circuit - high readings show a broken connection.
