Welcome to our celebration! On Apr 23, 2005 at 11:26am RandomHero created Guitarnuts 2. This week we observe the completion of 14 years service to the DiY Guitar community. Business will continue as usual throughout the forum but we'll also spend some time socializing right here. A mass email was sent, so like last year we'll probably see some GuitarNuts who don's post often. Feel free to give a shoutout to friends who have helped you in the past, tell us what you've been doing lately, or just say hello to everyone. Guests are permitted to post in this thread. If this is your first time here, take a look around and let us know what you think of our home. EDIT:Because of thoughts expressed in this thread, I decided to add some acknowledgments in the OP. John S. Atchley's Guitarnuts site was the keystone for this forum (after the forum attached to his site was hacked). For about ten years we operated in a concurrent fashion. He had a link on his site to this forum, we had a link to his site proudly displayed on the home page of our forum which read: The Original GuitarNuts site, where this community was born!In other news history:For the past two and a half years, antigua has moderated and managed the Pickup Testing and Modelling sub-board. Because of this, we host conversations which are based on science rather than just 'taste tests'. The activity in that sub-board has risen to the same level as our discussions in Guitar Wiring, which has been a mainstay of our forum. We've expanded our service to the guitar community. Be sure to take the 2019 Homecoming Quiz! As always, it's a mix of easy and really tough trivia. Even if you don't have all the right answers, you might still win. Yeah, it's that hard.

Well since it's St. George's Day over here, I'll wish The Forum all the best of success in the future and acknowledgement to Newey, SG, Cyn1 and JohnH for past assistance rendered, although there are in addition too many other deserving folks to list. High 5s All.

Hi all,
I've not been around since last summer: moved from the US back home to the UK (for family reasons), and then moved to France last month. Fair to say that I've been distracted.
I hope you all are well and I'll try to pop by more often again.
Take care everyone.

Thank you ReTread for sending this invitation. I am many years overdue saying thank you to this community, including the original Guitarnutz site. From around the start of the millennium, you have helped me rebuild my 54 year old Fender PJ bass, install the SuperStrat and series/parallel bridge pickup in my HSS Fernandez, wire my Kiesel J bass with a series switch, and a fabulous 2-tier switching scheme for my Kiesel HSH guitar.
Best wishes to all of you, and have a pint of the best in the house!

Happy 14th anniversary to GuitarNuts2 / GuitarNutz 2. Iβm very grateful for the advice on how to add a 5-way switch, Tele switchplate, and a neck humbucker, to my single split coil humbucker Ibanez Roadstar II, to go from 2 pickup tone selections to 10 pickup tones, with various combinations of serial, parallel, and out of phase. This guitar gets the most use itβs my number 1.

But sadly, many others have been lost forever. We'd be remiss if we didn't acknowledge that site for being the keystone for our continuing work.

Congratulations. Good news: My book "Electric Guitar Sound Secrets and Technology" is available now as e-book for download: helmuth, normally we prune links to self-promotion. But since your publicly available works have been the source of great conversations on this forum, I think we'll probably make an exception and let this one stand.

I first posted here about 2001, and then proceeded to shield and star ground my Fender Jazz. I worked out great, I have since gotten quite a bit of useful advise. Thanks to all, John

A bastion of knowledge, sanity, encouragement, and creativity; I've learnt a lot from this site and have the utmost respect for those who share, inspire, and show the way forward in both the practical and theoretical sense. I can truly say there are a number of gurus here. I had to take a break for a number of years but hope to be more active again now that my work day world is easing down. I did my first mod (shielding) way back when John Atchley had his original site, got hooked, and I'm glad to say this band of tinkerers has improved and expanded on the original concept. Thanks for being a beacon of light and welcome for all the nutz!

Thanks for organising the party! Its great to see some long-term members calling in again.
I've regarded GN2 as my online home since it started and its good to see new ideas still coming along.
I was an early member, and I was also online at the exact moment the original GuitarNuts went down due to hackers. I was just posting a question for Wolf on one of his designs, I hit send, and PFFFT!!!.
IT WASN'T MY FAULT!!
btw.. Wolf if you are out there....I'm still waiting for my answer.
But there's no rush, since Ive forgotten what the question was.

Happy 14th anniversary, to the Nutzhouse!! I'm greatful that RandomHero started Guitarnutz2. This forum has to be THE BEST resource for all things guitar. From the esoteric to the elementary, the cool crew here is ever willing to share their vast and humbling knowledge and experience. I'm lucky to be a member of this site, as I truly am just a rookie solderflinger. I really appreciate the work and time that goes into helping this worldwide community of musicians and technicians. I refer often to Guitarnutsz2 when i want an easy to understand explanation on something very technical. The folks here are great at communicating with people of all skill levels. The answers to queries are always to-the-point, honest, and accurate. Never condescending, always helpful. Sometimes i get depressed in life, it's easy nowadays with all the news headlines, so working on guitar projects is my respite. This website has seriously improved my quality life. To have this brilliant community here to help, it really means a lot. The feeling of accomplishment when i complete a project is like a drug, but with a positive outcome. I got immense help from thetrajichero, Yogi B, newey, JohnH, and sumgai on my 3 Jaguar pick-up Brian May inspired project. Big thanks to them. It was especially interesting for me to learn some excellent trouble shooting methods, and such a pleasure to interact with these guys. The experience helped me realize that this is a wonderful time to be alive for guitarists on this planet earth. Never has so much information been shared so freely and accurately to the masses as it is here on Guitarnutz2. In the future i plan on doing another guitar with similar wiring as my first project, but this time i'll be putting it into a Yamaha EGV-103C body. That first guitar project was for my brother, and man, now i really want a guitar like that for myself!! It really is a tone monster. Here's a link to that first one for reference... guitarnuts2.proboards.com/thread/8420/jag-pus-series-parallel-phaseLong live the Nutzhouse!! Best wishes to all the Nutz, past and present. Thanks for helping me and so many others, and thanks for being who you are. -Dave

Best Wishes and Congratulations to the Forum and All Who Sail In Her (and gently steer her from time-to-time!)
This place was my first real foray into the World of Forums, all those years ago, and is still such a wonderful place to visit... ....although I acknowledge I don't get here as often I once did, it's always the breath of fresh air that it was from the beginning.
Throw another prawn on the barbie, Folks....enjoy it in the knowledge that this is one of the very few places to still enjoy polite, informative and entertaining conversation on the Internet.
All the Very Best from dim, dark, Southern Australia, that is, when the Sun isn't shining straight through our Very Own Ozone Hole !
Cheers,
gumbo

I haven't been terribly good at checking back in here ... IIRC, I came initially to sort out wiring my Dano ... great community and I'm so very pleased to hear it's expanded!
Big love from the Great South Land!

Regardless of how often you post, your epic thread derailments are the stuff of legend. Also, your contributions to the knowledge base in the area of Roland GK gear are priceless.

Apologies for the delay in my response!
I found your forum after doing a number of Google searches for wiring diagrams. A couple of different posts on other forums directed the OPs of those requests to your forum, where they'd find useful information, and experts willing to assist further as well as giving more in-depth information.
