Hey Guys, I usually use one of those mechanical pump solder suckers; however, I need something better. I’m looking at desoldering stations and am unfamiliar with the technology. Any recommendations would be appreciated. Thanks!

techspray pro wick desoldering braid with a bit of flux I'll use the bulb for big stuff and then the braid for finer stuff

Thanks Trag, I got the bulb after John recommended it. I will buy the pro wick you recommended.

I find the bulb is kind of magic! I expected that it would get most of the bulk off, but leaving an annoying bit behind. But the molten solder seems to have some kind of stick-together viscous group-mentality such that once most of it is moving it all follows. I've had leads through pcbs that have been completely freed by one suck.

Hi John, You are exactly correct. The bulb is superior to the cheap soldering vacuum pen I was using. I’ve cleaned a shoe box of parts no problems. Thanks again to you and Trag

The rubber bulb sucker gets a thumbs up from me too. I can't control the recoil on those piston types.
