Well, a .47uF cap would be a bit muddy, in my opinion. As for the brand, Auricap and Hovland are certainly "good stuff", but I think they might be a bit of overkill for a guitar. If you're going to spend that kind of money on a cap, you should be spending a LOT more on the pots, switches, etc. After all, the chain is only as good as it's weakest link.

Yes - Hi and welcome. I see you are looking at an Aussie site. Are you down here? If so, a special welcome, there are not many of us around. I live near Wollongong NSW.
As to the cap, Id take a lot of convincing before I belived that it would sound any different to the 25 cent kind.
cheers

Yes - for basic electronics parts switches etc, D!ck Smith (retail, or online at dse.com.au) or Jaycar are fine

is this for a tone control capacitor? if so, you want 0.022 to 0.047, rather than 0.33. Or is it for a safety capacitor?

yes, Hi, and to the forums. Your latest link is the right part for a tone control cap. Your first one would have been fine for a safety/isolation cap, as per this link: Quieting the Beast (most of the way down the page). HTH sumgai
