LHi Guys, In my down time I’ve been messing with tone pot variations. I have come up with a bunch I like, primarily filtered. Here is a simple one that I think is nice. I believe I saw some variation of it years ago. Anyway, if one is looking for more of a gradation on the roll, you might want to consider it. I know most will hate it (have issues with it) but “what the hey.” To me, it has a more nuanced roll in of tone with a lot of variation between 5 an 9 on the sweep. Of course, it could be my imagination but I am hearing more nuancing.

Okay, so your "Out to Jack" wire is errant. If you took output from there, you'd get at least -11dB (and a whole lot of treble loss) just from the existence of the 2k resistor paired with a typical Strat pickup. In addition, the output would be further lowered for the vast majority of the range of the (assumed log-taper) pot as most of the signal would go through the 2.2nF cap which, with the following 2k resistor, would form a high pass filter with a cutoff of around 36kHz. That'd be definitely noticeable and the pot would have a switch like taper. My first thought (I believe before you made the edit to include the above) was: "Oh, since you've been playing around with the treble half of a Baxandall tone control (in your amp tone control thread a few weeks back), now you're experimenting with the bass half — only you've taken the output from the righthand lug instead of the middle (and ignoring the insertion loss)". But nope, now I'm pretty sure you're thinking of the greasebucket tone control.
