Hey everybody, hope everyone’s been doing well! I’ll get to it - A few minutes ago, I noticed something that I don’t get…. Ok - HH, 1 volume, 1 tone, 3-way blade (it’s a Kaish HD) both pots are push/pulls. Pickups are both 4 conductor Seymour Duncans. I’m getting continuity between the Grounding circuitry and some of the screws and lugs but not all… Like starting with the neck pickup, I put the neg lead on the screw under the low e and check it against every other screw and lug then screw under A against every other, etc…etc…. Some of the screws share continuity with the grounding circuit and some don’t. Some of the lugs share continuity with the grounding circuit but not all. And some of the screws share continuity with some of the lugs but not all… That’s not normal, right? Can someone please explain?

Btw, the position combinations of the pickup selector and two push/pulls do not change which screws/lugs are/aren’t sharing continuity with ground.
Maybe I’m being dumb but wouldn’t any screw/lug that’s sharing continuity with the grounding circuit be cut from the signal that the output jack is receiving to send to the amp?

Could be they aren't all touching the magnet. Might be some wax blocking them or something. The pickup chassis, magnet, slugs and screws should all be grounded to sink any potential noise. Not an issue if the noise isn't enough to bother you, but it depends on the environment. You could try squeezing the chassis with a wrench so the screw edges all contact the magnet (or metal spacers if it's ceramic), but the slugs usually touch the magnet face from the top. It's not an ideal design.

Ok so what you’re saying is that the only issue is that not all slugs&screws are grounded. When I get back from being out of town, I’ll give them a squeeze and see what happens.
Thanks! Keith B.
