Hello all!
New member here and wanted to call on your wisdom / experience for a new build I’m working on with the following objectives:
1. Suggestions for switch options (standard 3-way, 4-way, 5-way super switch) 2. Feedback on the concept 3. Ultimately any wiring diagrams that pull some of this off
SPECS: *Telecaster (kit build) *Neck Pickup: SD Jazz (4 conductor) *Bridge Pickup: SD Little 59 (4 conductor) *3 hole control plate for separate volume controls & 1 master tone *push pull for coil split on both volumes & possibly push pull on tone for different capacitor values or something else *undecided on standard 3-way, 4-way or full on 5-way super switch
To clarify, I’m not actually sure if I want all the series / parallel, in and out of phase options. This is not designed for useful gigging tones but just because I’m a guitar nerd and love messing with these.
Further, I’ve wired my own guitars for over 20 years but never studied the craft so I’m good at following diagrams but cannot design them 🤷🏻♂️
Thank you in advance for any feedback on the above!

gdpaterfamilias- Hello and Welcome to G-Nutz2!There are a lot of possibilities; your "wish list" isn't very specific. Dual volume controls with a master tone will work better with using a dual-gang pot for the tone control. The V and T pots are then just wired like on an LP with individual V and T controls. As for switching, if you're not concerned about quick switching while gigging, and assuming you have to buy a new switch anyway, mitght as well get the superswitch and figure 5 combinations you would want. The price differential versus a 3-way or 4-way lever switch won't be much. You might consider using the 5-way for the standard Tele settings, plus both pickups in series and both out-of-phase as the other 2 options. Push/pulls could then split the copils on one or the other of the psickups, or both if you use 2 push/pulls. To fit 3 pots plus a lever switch onto a Tele control plate may present a challenge. Measure carefully, and you may need to go to the dime-sized pots to make it all fit the space.

Greetings. Here are a couple thoughts to entertain. One has more series options and one has more parallel sounds. Both can be wired up on a Schaller megaswitch if you need to squeeze it in under a tele control plate. These are from the old DGB site which seems to be lost to internet antiquity. In my experience, a PTB tone control is a welcome addition to any humbucker.
