Hi!
Just got a cheap OLP silhouette HSS but I am not a fan of the pickups -no matter I've got a few replacements in the parts drawer so…
While I'm at it is it worth going the HSH route instead? I've never had this layout before so it might be interesting?
Is it worth having series and phase options for either of these, HSS and HSS, anyway, by the way?
Are there any RIGHT wiring diagrams I could be pointed to for HSS & HSH, please
As it happens, in my parts box, I have one of those 10 way switches and I'm sure I have some sort of super &/or mega switch somewhere as well, if thats a must?
My basic Silhouette has a volume, a tone, five way; trad trem and a rosewood board thanks for any advice

In terms of the 10-way Free-way switch, there are 2 models of that configuration, one that works well for SSS and HSS (the 5B5-01 Model) and one that is skewed toward HSS, HHH, and HSH pickup combinations (5B5-02 Model). Which version do you have? You can find lots of wiring diagrams for both at Free-way switch. All the diagrams should work fine. The funny thing is the 5B5-01 switch give ways to put pickups on series (something SSS is rarely capable to do without help otherwise), whereas the 5B5-02 mainly give the ability to coil cut pickups that otherwise need additional switches to do, so you'd unlikely get more series combinations beyond the normal ones that come natively on the pickups with that one, though you might like some of the now available parallel combinations. In terms of the superswitch, there is a lot here on the site and at the mirror site of Phostenix Phostenix.... As far as what is ideal and/or floats your boat, if you were to stay with a HSS setup, the Free-way additional series combinations are worth it in my opinion. (5B5-01) I (using another switch) tried the phase deal on SC pickups and was not a fan, but maybe that is just me. I have not tried the superswitch or SB5-02, so can't comment on some of the other possibilities.
