Hi everybody. I have inherited a project guitar that my father made from scratch, and I am trying to set up the wiring as follows:
2 humbucking pickups (both single conductor), 3-way pickup selector toggle switch passive treble cut (i.e. "tone") control passive bass cut control 1meg volume control, 100k volume control, 2-way volume selector toggle switch
I have a variety of potentiometers, SPDT on-on switches, DPDT on-on switches, and DPDT on-off-on switches readily available on hand. (I basically scavenged my father's old work bench).
The idea is that the treble & bass controls will work on both pickups at all times. In addition, there will be a switch to select between the two different volume pots - trying to partially simulate the lead circuit/rhythm circuit effect on a Fender Jaguar. (I realize Fender often puts 1meg volume on both circuits, but I'm not looking to clone the circuit literally - it's more about pursuing a similar function; I also have some lower k pots on hand if 100k is still too high). No need for coil splitting or parallel/series or phase switching or any of that.
Any guidance is appreciated on how to set this up. While my late father taught me the ways of soldering, I've always been essentially a trained monkey - somebody points, I solder. I'm new to actually figuring out the wiring, and I wouldn't know the difference between a wiring diagram vs a Google Maps printout.
My apologies if there is already something like this on the forum. I did look, and I wasn't able to find any clear, obvious matches. If it turns out I did actually miss something (which I wouldn't put it past me, tbh), that's only going to make things more convenient for my project.

hi ignerint, a warm welcome to GN2. I'm sure we can figure something out with a switch.
Working on this will be wonderful way to remember your Dad. My father was also a maker of things, and I think of him every time I build something.
As for the details, the basic approach is very simple from pickup to toggle to bass and treble cut. Then a switch with two poles is needed to select which of two volume pots receives the pickup signal, and also to select it to go to the output and cut out the unwanted pot. (diagram needed)
But, I'd suggest to consider two pots of the same value, probably 500k, unless you have a reason not to. And the switch can either be a srperate mini-toggle, or a push-pull switch mounted on one of the pots. All simple standard parts in each case. The choice can come down to depth and space in tbe guitar.
If you'd like to, we'd be happy to see a picture of the guitar!
