As the subject line says, I'm wondering if there's anybody here who is 1. based in Australia; and 2. potentially interested in testing some of the pickups I have lying around. Most of the pickups I own have already been analysed, but I have a few pickups/sets that haven't — as far as I can tell — been analysed yet: - a set of three Zexcoil pickups, each of which is a different pickup model (Zexcoil uses the term "staggered" to refer to what other manufacturers would call a "balanced" set)
- a set of three Fluence "single-width" pickups: all three pickups, via a single preamp housed inside the bridge pickup assembly, offer two switchable "voices"
- a single EMG SAV pickup: a first-generation EMG strat pickup, like the S and SA models, but with flat-pole alnico 5 rod magnets
Most of these pickups are in relatively poor condition — an unfortunate product of my constant tinkering and technical ineptitude — but they all work. I'm not sure how exactly we would work out the logistics of such an operation, but I suspect it would be fairly easy — and, hopefully, not too expensive — to post them to another Australian city (I'm in Adelaide). I've never really done any shipping of products before, so feel free to set me straight if I've got the wrong idea about something. Anyway, to anybody who's interested: I'm a relative novice here, so by all means feel free to get in touch, propose a plan, etc. At the very least, I think it's worth trying to get the Zexcoil set into the hands of somebody with the appropriate measurement tools — it's a unique pickup design, and I'm really curious to see how it compares to other noiseless designs. That's all from me. Let me know if you're keen!
