Hi All hope everybody is fine, alive and kicking some serious axes!
The issue : I just got Boss gx-100 , and while I got some incredible solo tone yesterday (day 0), I didn't manage anything else, and I cant say I really understand the tones/amps provided. I am coming from Boss me-25 (which I still have and play and I am gonna keep it like smth super valuable). In the upcoming live I will play with the old boss me-25.
I used divider and mixer into two parallel paths and used delay stereo and harmonizer, which sounds incredibly good. ok. BUT the moment I add an amp to the right of the path, instantly the stereo is gone and the tone becomes ... meh ... nothing clear, nothing fancy ... I put a distortion in the front... maybe this is idiotic to do ... I dont know much ...
The amps? some sound barely ok, others like the Juggernaut, I don't know their point of existence ...
I play mostly rock, metal...
please help!! should I keep it or not?? is this not good enough or am I a complete old aged idiot ?

so my guess is that you're playing this direct to board instead of through amps? if not, don't use an amp model in front of a physical amp it'll likely sound bad
either way I'd be looking at youtube videos on dialing it in because I'm sure there are tips and tricks you're missing

Thank you !!
I am playing mostly via headphones! And I am comparing me-25 to gx-100. Gx-100 is surely more Hi-Fi !(haha for the retro word!!)
Yesterday I played through the default patches, and I liked it a lot! Solid tones! Juggernaut in high gain mode resembles 5150, I saw a youtube video suggesting that and they were right! So not quite useless! I almost got EVH "mean street" tone instantly with just a few settings !! ME-25 seemed to have everything good out of the box, but the GX-100 seems to have a ton of tonal capabilities, mic simulations, speaker simulations, etc ... More complicated than the me-25 for sure. It took me 10+ years to learn the me-25 (and still learning) , I should not expect to learn gx-100 in one day!! So ..... a keeper!! Just at the upcoming live gigs I will be using the old me-25 still!

The more I play with this , the easier it gets ... I mean, in a week or so I can have all the settings for the upcoming live performance, about 30 songs (ouch).
