Back in 2019 I came up with a scheme to give the 7 SSS combos and 2 additional series combos, and 3 switches were required. Furthermore one switch "blanked out" another, so transitions were overly complicated (double switching required). sss-series-parallel-bypass-switch
I had a lot of other stuff going on in there too, and while I was happy with the results, it's not something everyone would want to do.
I've reworked the switching so only one helper switch is required, and omitted the additional 'bells and whistles' for the sake of showing the guts of the switching.
In the drawing I show some other iterations (such as 2 DPDTs) to show other possibilities (like when mounted on push-pulls) but then the simplicity of a single switch is not realized and some double switch moves are needed....
I have not built this final version, any second pair of eyes looking it over would be appreciated.
