Hi everyone my name is Andy hope all is well. I've nearly finished the installation of the ec mid boost but I'm not sure where the wires on the humbucker should be soldered. The green was on the back of the volume pot. The red was on the selector switch. Thanks for any help..... I'm trying to get the photos on here....

tellynorman- I can't see very much from your pictures, unfortunately. I assume they gave you a diagram of some sort to use. Perhaps if you post that it may help.

yes I have wired exactly as specified in the diagram. I am having issues: 1. I have sound but volume pot does not work. 2 If I turn the bottom tone knob full on the sound cuts out. There's a great tutorial on you tube with the resistor the other way around ... Iv'e tried both ways with the same result.

Is the active mid-boost working as it should? Not sure why you're having these issues. Let's await someone else taking a look at this. As to the volume pot not working, the only thought I had was that you may have cooked the innards the pot by applying heat for too long. You would need to remove the pot from the circuit to test it properly with a multimeter. Or, if you have a known-good pot of the correct value, you could just swap it out for the new one. As for the tone control, I have no idea.

I have sorted the volume problem it was the ground lug solder.🙄 The tbx is working but the bottom tone put is still faulty. It has no effect and when I turn to 10 all sound cuts out for all pick ups... the tone pot is defender spl 250k no load. Is this the right pot??

Fender not defender 🤭

After a little bit of homework I now know what a no load pot is🤭 The pot works correctly the tone changes are very subtle as you turn the control.

Fender not defender 🤭 This is what I'd expect if the NL pot were wired incorrectly. Should be either: a) hot signal goes to middle lug; capacitor goes from CCW lug to ground or b) hot signal goes to CCW lug; capacitor goes from middle lug to ground each option leaves the CW lug unused. If you've got a wire soldered to the CW lug of the tone pot, there could be trouble right there. I think I see a purple wire going there in the most recent photo.

Ok thanks! With a normal pot would I leave the wiring as it is? I've got another 250k that I could swap

I think that it's the same for NL pot or normal pot, meaning choose either:
a) hot signal goes to middle lug; capacitor goes from CCW lug to ground or b) hot signal goes to CCW lug; capacitor goes from middle lug to ground
each option leaves the CW lug unused.
--- The symptoms will differ between a normal pot and an NL pot, if they're wired a certain incorrect way (i.e ground to CW lug, hot to middle lug; or vice-versa). With a thus incorrectly wired NL pot, the signal would suddenly go silent at 10.
