I had a special pickup made from a well known boutique guitar builder with a very long wait list... needless to say he made me a bridge pickup when I wanted a neck pickup and I can't get ahold of him to exchange.
I've given up on the idea of getting an exchange at this point and am just wondering what if I put it in the bridge position. Are there any potential ramifications or things to consider here as far as tonal implications etc?
Thanks

If it fits, the difference is most likely just that it’ll be a bit hotter and darker. That’s of course just guessing, but usually in a set, the neck will be wound a bit lighter because the string moves further in that position, and the bridge position can stand to lose a half octave or so of treble extension because you get a bigger proportion of high harmonics already.

The other thing of course is that the spacing between the pole pieces might be a bit larger, maybe 52 or 52.5mm instead of 50 from center of #1 to center of #6. This probably has little practical importance, although you might lose a bit more level than you expect when string bending #1.
