1. bridge hum 2. bridge hum + neck hum 3. neck hum 4. neck north coil split 5. bridge south coil split I reckon that's not quite right. What I see looks more like this: 1. bridge hum 2. bridge hum + neck hum 3. neck hum 4. neck north coil split (neck south shunted to ground) + bridge south coil split (bridge north hanging from hot) 5. bridge south coil split (bridge north hanging from hot) imho, position 5 is bloody awful. If I'd have one single by itself, it would be one of the neck coils rather than a bridge coil. And with the pickups oriented that way, the bridge south is the closest to the bridge, so it will be weak and brittle.

Thanks reTrEaD I may be a bit of an oddball and sort of like that weak single coil bridge tone (a lot like early Buddy Guy), but not sure for the HH guitar though.

A couple of things to remember: The "1" position is with the lever pointed toward the bridge. You could change the wiring such that you get nearly the same combinations, by simply rearranging the HB wires such that your 2 position is neck south + bridge north and your 1 position is bridge north. That would at least make the bridge single a little stronger and less brittle.
Or . . . you could use a superswitch and get exactly what you want for each of the 5 combinations, in exactly the sequence you want.

Let me see if I can figure that wiring, and I’ll post it here tomorrow to see if I get it right. I’m working with the 5 way switch since I ruined my super switch with poor soldering skills, ended up with some solder drips shorting some of the poles and I can’t clean it up since it’s dripped between the two blades.
