Hi all, I am working on installing an ilitch bpncs to my strat. My strat currently has two 500k pots (1 for vol, 1 for tone). Would everything function correctly if I just ignored that 2nd tone knob in the attached diagram from Ilitich? I've tried reaching out to them with no luck. I just want to make sure my bridge humbucker "sees" 500k and my single coils "see" 250k. Thanks in advance!

doobiebrother- Not following what you mean here. In the diagram you posted, the second tone control is marked "not used" and has nothing wired to it.

Would everything function correctly if I just ignored that 2nd tone knob in the attached diagram from Ilitich Hmmm… according to the diagram, the second and also unused pot just has a ground wire soldered to its case. Nothing connected to its lugs. So, I say: yes, it will be fine to leave tone pot 2; don’t include it in your guitar. Only its case is currently grounded; why? I guess it can receive noise from you, but how would that noise affect the guitar’s signal? Its lugs are not connected. I just want to make sure my bridge humbucker "sees" 500k and my single coils "see" 250k. In my humbucker guitar, I replaced one of the pups with a DiMarzio Bluesbucker. That humbucker is really a single coil pickup with a dummy coil to kill the hum. With a 500K vol and 500K tone my guitar was extremely trebly. I replaced just the 500K tone pot with a 250K tone; it tons better now. However, I never use my real humbucker alone, by itself, so I’m not sure a 250K tone would sound great on only your humbucker; also my real humbucker came with my guitar so it’s not special; but, I do love my guitar’s sound now! 👍😀

So I have it all wired up and am so far very happy with the hum cancelling results. I do unfortunately find the single coils a bit bright and have liked the sound they had with 250k pots. I do have a 250k pot laying around and some resistors. Are there any changes I'd need to make to that diagram to make it like the Suhr style wiring (positions 2-5 see 250k and position 1 sees 500k)?

After doing some research on this question that has been asked a million times....
Would it work if I wired ~500k ohm resistance in parallel with the neck and middle pickups that should bring it down to 250k. If I wire those in at a4 and c4 (one end in the pin, other end to ground), would that do what I want (which is have the single coils see 250k and humbucker see 500k, all while having 1 vol 1 tone (both 500k pots))?
