thought someone here might like to see this one problem with moving 1000+ miles is that not everything arrives in the condition it left in this 50w output transformer (from a bogen pa head) was giving me a very large dc resistance reading on the primary. i unwrapped the protective paper and saw why center and left wires are no longer connected to the winding so i got out my trusty soldering iron and fixed that (tiny primary wires - which is high voltage, low current - are thankfully larger than pickup windings, which i still haven't mastered soldering to), and then covered with 'laquer' (aka cheap nail polish) to insulate (ain't perfect, but it'll do) to cover the connections i took 'kraft paper' (aka a cut section of a paper grocery bag) and attached it with spray rubber cement next i soaked everything in clear 'laquer' (aka nail polish) to seal all that goodness in, and it looks almost like new why did i post this? basically because a little resourcefulness can turn a frustrating situation into something normal thank you for coming to my TED talk
