A few years ago, a kind GN2 member shared with me a library of shapes (for a another drawing app). There was work involved in making those shapes, and I benefitted for free. Yay, forums. I remain inspired to contribute back. Lately I've been messing around with the app called draw.io Currently I use it for making wiring diagrams. It's a bit of a pain to make template shapes that I can reuse, like a 5-way switch or a humbucker pickup. Wait. "Bit of a pain" is an understatement in draw.io. So I'm sharing here a cloudinary link to some shape libraries that could be useful to people using draw.io for making guitar wiring diagrams. Feel free to copy, edit, forward, fold, spindle and mutilate without worrying about me trying to claim any copyright bullsht.
Overall strategy on how to use these files: As a draw.io user, you should should choose between two ways to use the files I'm sharing: - Store my downloaded libraries somewhere that makes sense on your system, and open them in draw.io when you want to use the shapes. or - Create and maintain your own shape libraries, and copy specific shapes from my downloaded files into your own libraries. When you download my files, put theme somewhere temporary, open them in draw.io, create instances of the items you like, and drag them into you own libraries. When finished plundering, optionally delete my downloaded files.
Getting the libraries Click on the link above ( also here). It should open an new tab/window with a few files listed (coudinary calls them "assets"). From cloudinary, you have to download them one at a time (sorry! couldn't see a way around the one-at-a-time thing). Put them somewhere that makes sense, according to your strategy (above).
Using the files: In draw.io, open a drawing (or create a new one). Use the menus to open a library. Navigate to and open one of the downloaded files.
Updates: When I get into a flurry of using draw.io, I tend to make new shapes. Maybe I'll post them in the link that I've provided above. There'll be dates in the file names, but I probably won't provide a changelog. So it'll be up to you to revisit if you want to update any plundering.
