Hi there, I'm looking for a diagram for 2 humbuckers with 2 volumes push/pull for coil split. 2 tones and a 3 way on/on/on pickup selector slider switch. Jaguar style slider with 3 instead of 2 positions. Please help ๐ฌ๐๐ผ๐ค๐ผ
Or instead of the slider, would it be easier to have 2 latching push buttons for pickup selection.

endopoptart- Hello And Welcome to G-Nutz2!Or instead of the slider, would it be easier to have 2 latching push buttons for pickup selection. The tough part about using a slide switch isn't the wiring, that's fairly straightforward. The tough part is cutting a rectangular hole into a pickguard (or directly into the body, if it's a rear cavity type) without butchering the thing up. It's a lot easier to drill a hole for a toggle, or for a pushbotton if you prefer. As for the rest of your wish list, I assume you mean that you will have one push/pull on the bridge V pot to split that HB and another on the neck pot to split the neck. that's easy enough. The V and T pot wiring will be just like the wiring diagram for any LP style guitar that has individual V and T pots. The coil cut switch will be interposed between the pickup and the V and T pots for that pickup, then the selector comes last in line before the jack. If you decide on the slide switch let us know before someone starts in on a diagram, as the switching will be different, depending upon that choice. Also please let us know what type of HB you have so we can get the wire colors right. If the HBs are from 2 different manufacturers, we'll need to know that as well, and the wire colors if different from the other one. Essentially, you could take any LP diagram with the 4 pots and use that as a starting point. The coil split switch will be a separate module, drawn separately and inserted into the LP diagram. Same with the wiring to the pickup selector, whatever it is- it'll be a module that would get "subbed in" where the 3-way toggle goes on the LP diagram. Your order of components, for each pickup, will thus be Pickup>>>>>Push/pull coil split switch>>>>>Vol. Pot, Tone pot wired off the volume pot>>>>>selector switch>>>>>Output jack. Another thing to consider with this type of dual coil split setup is whether you would want the two HBs to be split to opposite coils from one another, so that the middle position will be hum-canceling when both are split. Your call, but highly recommended by most. If drilling additional holes is not a concern, you might also consider using a DPDT On-On-On toggle switch for each pickup. You could thus have each pickup either On, Split, or Off. Instead of two push/pulls and two latching buttons (or one slide switch), two switches does it all. These kind of choices may well depend on how you will use the guitar, too. Latching buttons would be a quick change if switching live onstage, toggles are a bit more "switchy". But a toggle can also be batted with the side of one's hand, whereas a push/pull requires one to grasp it with one's fingers. All things to consider.

I agree with Newey, cutting slide holes in a pickguard can be troublesome but not impossible. I use a Dremel with a cut off wheel to go through the back of the pickguard. Then a small drill bit to cut the verticals and file it down. But it can be achieved with just a very small drill bit and a file and a lot of patience.
But using toggles is much easier.

Thanks for the responses!
The pickups are TV Jones Thundertrons. I'm not sure of the wiring for I don't have them yet. I know they have 4 wires though. Seymour Duncan colors can be used for the diagram. 2 push/pull volumes for coil split. Splitting so both bridge side coils are on. 2 tone pots and I'm going to go with 2 latching push buttons, one for each pickup as a selector switch.
This will be on a bass guitar. Jag style so when both pickups are split it will act like jazz bass. I think lol. ๐ค๐ผ
