Hello. I have been reading info from Seymour Duncan and stewmac but I still can't figure the logic behind the fender s1 4dpt switch pot. I have an hsh guitar 1 tone, 1 volume. This is the schematic I'm trying to follow /YWr8tjy 5-Way Switching:
S-1 Up: 1. Bridge Inside Coil 2. Middle & Bridge Inside Coil 3. Middle 4. Middle & Neck Outside Coil 5. Neck Ouside Coil
S-1 Down: 1. Bridge Humbucker 2. Bridge Humbucker & Neck Outside Coil 3. Neck & Bridge Humbuckers 4. Neck Humbucker & Bridge Inside Coil 5. Neck Humbucker
What i'm trying to do is use 1 or 2 standard push push pot instead of the s-1. I appreciate any help.

limguy- Sorry no one has gotten back to you on this yet. It's been a bust week. This can certianly be doneNot sure this can be done. If it can, you would definitely need the 2 DPDT switches Several questions: First what are the pickups you're using? (or more exactly, what is the coilor scheme for the wires?) Knowing this will enable a diagram suited to what you have. Second, when you say "inner coil" versus "outer coil", which is the screw coil and which is the slug? And are the 2 HBs identical or different brands?

Hi sorry for the lack of details. I plan to try 2 pick upsets First are just from a cheap brand called fleor I can practice my wiring skills. And second are bare knuckles which is what i plan to permanently install on the guitar once I have everything figured out.
Fleor uses Seymour Duncan colors
Barenkucle has red for north start. Green north finish, black for south start and white south finish. Opposite of Seymour Duncan.
Humbuckers will be from the same brand and same model. Middle will be reverse wound reverse polarity. Screw poles are inner coils Slugs are outside
I have a 5 way super switch if needed Guitar 1 vol. 1 tone. Back routed. Ibanez rg470

I have a 5 way super switch if needed Guitar 1 vol. 1 tone. Back routed. Ibanez rg470 Ibanez often uses an Ibanez-specific 5-way switch. What pickup combos did the 5-way give (or does give, if it's still wired up as original)? This may simplify things, depending, I used to have an Ibby S470 HSH that had the Ibanez switch, and it gave you coil splits at positions 2 and 4. Also, that guitar, as is the case with many Ibanez guitars, had a very thin body. Although I never tried it, I feel certain that a Superswitch would have been too deep to fit into the thin body. So you should probably measure for that before we get too deep into this.

No. What he's asking for:S-1 Up: 1. Bridge Inside Coil 2. Middle & Bridge Inside Coil 3. Middle 4. Middle & Neck Outside Coil 5. Neck Ouside Coil S-1 Down: 1. Bridge Humbucker 2. Bridge Humbucker & Neck Outside Coil3. Neck & Bridge Humbuckers 4. Neck Humbucker & Bridge Inside Coil5. Neck Humbucker What that diagram does:S-1 Up: 1. Bridge Inside Coil 2. Middle & Bridge Inside Coil 3. Middle 4. Middle & Neck Outside Coil 5. Neck Ouside Coil S-1 Down: 1. Bridge Humbucker 2. Bridge Humbucker & Middle3. Neck & Bridge Humbuckers 4. Neck Humbucker & Middle5. Neck Humbucker

Thanks for bringing the size issue. I will see if I can measure the guitars cavity. I bought the guitar used so I don't know if it's stock but but the current pick up wiring does not split. As a reference the guitar is an older version of the rg470dx line up made from Indonesia. I will update you on the cavity measurement as soon as. I can. newey
