My S&P 12 string is only a little over a month old. I hang all of my guitars on my wall, and a few days ago while strumming my mandolin I by accident bumped the 12 string and left a small ding on her soundboard!! Its not noticeable to anyone but me and this drives me nuts!! Does anyone else out there have a story about hurting the one that they love? I like to keep all of my guitars perfect in every way. I know things happen, thats life but...GRRRRRR! Shes now flawed....I feel shame.

Well I feel your pain and am of two minds about nicks and scrapes. Yes, a funky moment for those time you stare at your guitar in admiration and lust.
However, if your playing you ain't lookin', hopefully you're executing, listening and connecting to something larger than yourself. That tsunamis even major blems.
I am almost relieved when the purty purty girl gets a little scar or bruise. Finally I can stop obsessing 'bout how purty she is.
This is why I got into building. I build players. Nicks, scrapes etc don't matter if the intonation is spot on, the action low and precise, there not a buzz on her, and the baby howls and sings. I build and buy to price point that emphasizes those qualities.
I have a museum piece that I worry about like your 12-string. It is worth too much to not. And I sort of despise the state because I am too cautious to really play her. And that is just wrong.

Oh man...
I quit peeing over knicks & dings on my babies after what I did to SOMEONE ELSE'S guitar!
An aquaintence (who was rapidly becoming a friend and jamming pard) had a sweet small bodied Guild acoustic - quartersawn spruce top, walnutback & sides: sounded HUGE. Just one of those instruments that anybody who saw it went "OOoohhh..." when they saw it.
One night we were plucking & drinking beer & one of the guys across from me asked me for a light. I was trying to be cool so I did some fancy B.S. with my Zippo then went to toss it across... fumbled... and...
So now this fella (who I haven't seen or heard from much since then) has a beautiful guitar with an ugly gash in the top where my lighter hit it. I was (and still am) horrified at what my negligence caused.
And now, every new nick, dent, scratch, or scar I find on one of my own - I figure it's payback & I deserve it. The wheel of karma at work.
