I know this had nothing to do with guitars, but I know theres a few mates from Australia on here ( You know who you are ) My g/f has found her best friend from high school lives in Queensland. A place called Logan, or Loganholme. Flying terrifies me, and the thought of learning to play the didgeridoo at my age is enough to give me acute angina!....or at least a nice bum! anyway... Calm my fears fellow fret- heads!!

Well as an ex-pat Brit settled in Aus, I can reassure that there is nothing to worry about, as far as Australians are concerned. I can't say as much for their spiders. And in fact some of their soap operas are also quite a concern.
We string our guitars the same way you do.
I dont know how it is with flying fear - I do it often, and its a hassle but other than that, just like riding a bus.
If you are visting Queensland, now until about October is a great time, particularly the tropical far north, where you can swim on the Great Barrier Reef. You will love it here. Let me know any particular questions and Id be happy to advise if I can.
cheers
John
