I've been mixing myself double shots of Queen and Anal c t. Horrible mix, but fun as hell. Also lately become addicted to a local improv jam band by the name "Holy f k". God damn my inadvertent potty mouth...

FWIW,
on George Carlin's 7,
1, 3, 4, the first half of 5, and the second half of 6, get "percented".
2 and 7 are unscathed

I like to listen to musicians who play their whole lives with little or no commercial airplay... I've just discovered Walter Trout, Robin Trower, Popa Chubby!

For the past week or so ive put some Mozart on the c.d. player. It does cleanse the palate I must say. I do love Blues/rock etc. But classical music makes my brain think in a different way. We have a rock station here in Toronto called Q107. It plays classic rock, and thats fine. I like it!...but, how many times can you hear "Smoke on the water"...or..."Stairway to Heaven" Dont get me wrong, these are great tunes, but after a while it turns the brain to mush. You need to expose yourself to different types of music to cleanse your thought process. Youll be amazed at what new little ditties you come up with on the guitar after a few Mozart sonatas. FYI...I like girls!

I'm going to find some Mozart! That sounds like a great idea. and maybe some Rachmaninoff. In the meantime, in no particular order....
Niko Case, Keith Richards, Kate Melua, and Paul Cotton.

I went to see a venue on the current tour Robin Trower tour a couple of weeks ago.
I kinda grew up on Trower as the first of the Hendrix clones that moved into his own voice. I thought everyone knew him, but when I asked around, few did.
So he is older (60+) and doesn't draw arena crowds anymore. There were probably 1000-1200 people. I had an excellent outpost, and brough binocs for close in views. The crowd was a little scary to me since the average age was around 50, and some of the old hippies ... had really let themselves go. Bad enough seening an over the bong dude, but the women ..... eeeeowwwwe.
Anyway, RT was completely locked in. Not a missed note, road the rhythm like a steam engine, and moved into and stayed in that space when thinking ceases and being is. I was moved and did not expect to be ... moved.
Learned alot about getting the most out of a single note, and was reminded of why I play music, and the critical part of opening up to the heart. The man played with soul and connection.
Been revisiting his catalog and it is a different space.

THANKS A LOT RUNE!!! I hadn't heard Trower in quite awhile, and was never really familiar with his work. But I read your post and decided to hit iTUNES and sample what he was/is doing. I ended up downloading EVERTHING! Burning some CD's and now I need a road trip to hear it all. Great stuff.
Actually, thanks !

Been listening to a strange mix: Clapton and Kraftwerk. Dunno why they both came to mind, but hey they seem to fit when I'm driving to work. And amen to Robin Trower. Bob
