OK Im really struggling to find nitro in the uk. I want to refinish a strat in vintage white. Are there any other types of paint which would give a quality and hard wearing finish that are a little more easily available? Does anyone know of lacquer supplier in the uk? The body is almost ready for spraying and Im gonna grind to a halt. Help

I can't really help you since I'm not in the UK, but have you tried an auto paint supplier? Auto paint is lacquer, and works very well on guitars.
I've had great luck with Krylon spray can paint, too. Its not lacquer, but it is solvent based, so each coat "melts" into the last one, just like lacquer. I finished it off with about 10 coats of Krylon Crystal Clear, then wet sanded and buffed it to a shine. It works well.

Yep, have you ever noticed that Fender solid color guitars are often the same color as automobiles in the U.S.?
