Can any Strat neck go on any strat? For example, if you have a vintage reissue (as I do), can you chuck a 22 fret Am standard neck or something on it as a straight swap?

As far as I know, Fender Strat necks over the past decade have shared the exact same heel shape and dimensions. But every pocket will be a tiny bit different, you may need to do a little shimming or filing but basically it will work.

For what it's worth, I've put a Fender '57 reissue neck on a MIM Strat with no problem (did have to shim it in the back of the pocket with a piece of matchbook cover-weight paper, though, but then you might have to do that with any neck). I've done the same with a Mighty Mite replacement strat neck, also with great results. Good luck with your mod.
