I custom built a strat with a mex 62 reissue body. I used the gotoh trem but am starting to feel that a nice 2 point trem would be cool. I realise I cant drop fit a 2 point trem into a strat, the question is which trem should I go for? I dont want a bloody great hunk of metalwork engineering that will add 5 pounds to the body, a nice lightweight trem well made is what I am thinking about. Oh, standard rather than wide spacing please Im fed up with strings falling off the fretboard ;D ;D

go for a wilkinson vs50 or vs100. it is not a very cheap unit (although you can find it for about 50 euros if you search well) but imho the best one.
and if you get a graphtech nut and locking tuners you'll be able to do real dive bombing and still stay in tune.

even better. would still add locking tuners, though. not only added stability but also more fun while restringing.
ah yes, if you have string trees on your guitar, also replace them with graphtech or roller string trees.
