Can anyone tell me if it is possible t retrofit a 2-point american standard trem in place of my vintage strat trem? Has anyone done this before? I think it will allow me to pull up as well as dive-bomb. Thanks, Phil

Phil Simply raise your current bridge base plate up a little by relaxing the springs. Once it is floating, albeit at a slight angle, you can depress the bridge directly with the heel of your hand to raise the pitch, or pull up on the arm, if you have that mounted. Mine rests at probably only 9 or 10° off the body, so it appears normal at greater than arm's length. But, I can raise any string's pitch at least a whole tone. ;D Caution: you'll likely need to turn the 6 bridge screws out by something between a half and a full turn, in order to give the bridge plate some initial relief in this new position. Otherwise, you may not be able to fully dive bomb down to the deck. HTH sumgai
