hi, I've posted a few times.. but i need some advice on an ebay store. The 3 things that brought me to this store are; 1. I'm left handed 2. They ship from Vancouver (I'm in eastern Canada) 3. the prices are insane. stores.ebay.ca/Edencaster-GuitarsHas anyone ever dealt or even know of these parts? Everything seems too good to be true. a finished lefty strat body for $60 Canadian. Really... are they of loose tolerance? they say 3 piece alder for most of them. All I'd need would be a bridge, neck and body. I have a desk full of strat innards.. any opinions, comments welcome

The only thing I've bought from them was a pickguard. It was of high quality, and exactly as I expected. I am interested in their hollow tele bodies. Let me know what you get with yours, ok?

Better get 'em while we can, 'cause those guys are gonna get accused of "dumping", sure as shootin'. Either that, or else everything there is a factory second from somewhere else. Doesn't matter, the price is right. I think I'll give 'em a call on Monday morning, and see if they do any custom work, like no pre-installed frets on the neck....... that'll tell us a lot about what they're doing. mlrpa, did you note that they have a "local pickup" option? Do you smell a road trip coming on? ;D I'm willing to drive up there to see what they've got, since it's priced something like 50-80% lower than Warmoth/USACG. sumgai

I've looked at the necks for some time. Certainly Canada has plenty of quality hardwood, and if sourcing materials there, the maple woodstock should be hard and stable. Prices are compelling. So what's the problem? The guitar necks all come with those whinny vintage Fender style frets. .096" x .047". The bass necks have a more acceptable .106" x .036", which is in the order of traditional Gibson jumbos. For basses, however, those .106" x .036" are kinda girly. By today's standards the Gibson jumbos of the 60's are anemic, since today's jumbos give you practically a scalloped neck The .106" x .036" is very service-able size, whereas the .096" x .047" geometry IMHO have a "catchy" feel. I wonder if they would consider putting those bass frets on a guitar neck.

Well, i'm not sure if they are made up here or not. It just says they're shipped from Vancouver. I do remember however that the neck i got form stu-mac 5 or 6 years ago has a 'made in canada' sticker on it.

I built this guitar with an Eded body and neck. guitarnuts2.proboards45.com/index.cgi?board=music&action=display&thread=1177778827While relatively cheap it wasn't bad stuff, however, IMO, for the money, if you are wanting a quality instrument, stick to AllParts/WD/Warmoth/USCG ... Both the body and neck were shipped from Hong Kong, and as stated earlier, the frets were very thin "vintage" type frets, but then again about the same the Mighty Mite "medium jumbo" frets. Thats why MM is not included in the above list. With the body, I had to drill the holes from the contol cavity to the rear trem cavity for the bridge ground, from the control cavity to the jack cavity as well as for the neck and bridge. I got an ash body, it was a 4 piece, and while the finishing wasn't bad, the wood was definitley not too similar to North American ash species in terms of hardness color and grain. On the whole I wasn't displeased, and if you are looking for relatively inexpensive parts to experiment with (as I was) I can't say I don't recommend them. However, don't expect Allparts quality
